Does FlowCam work offline?
Yes! FlowCam works completely offline. Capture VINs, photos, and damage details in back lots, parking structures, or anywhere without WiFi or cellular signal. All data queues locally and syncs automatically when you reconnect to the internet.
How accurate is the VIN scanning?
FlowCam uses three-tier VIN scanning with 99.5%+ accuracy:
- Tier 1 - Barcode: Scans door jamb sticker barcodes (fastest)
- Tier 2 - OCR: On-device optical character recognition for printed VINs
- Tier 3 - AI Vision: Advanced AI for difficult cases (windshield VINs, worn stickers)
Every VIN is validated against check digits and decoded automatically with NHTSA data.
Can I export vehicle intake data?
Yes! FlowCam includes email export in the free version. All intake data—VIN, vehicle details, photos, damage descriptions, and customer information—can be emailed as a complete report. Perfect for:

How do I unlock all FlowCam features?

Troubleshooting & Common Issues
VIN scanning isn't working
Try these solutions:
- Lighting: Ensure good lighting on the VIN. Use device flashlight if needed.
- Focus: Hold camera steady and let it focus before capturing.
- Tier switching: If barcode fails, try OCR mode. If OCR fails, AI vision will activate.
- Manual entry: You can always type the VIN manually if scanning fails.
- Clean sticker: Wipe dirt/moisture from door jamb sticker before scanning.
Photos aren't syncing
Check these items:
- Internet connection: FlowCam needs WiFi or cellular to sync. Photos queue offline and upload when connected.
- Storage space: Ensure device has sufficient storage for photos.
- Background sync: iOS may pause syncing if battery is low. Plug in and wait.
- Force sync: Pull down to refresh on the main screen to manually trigger sync.
AI Voice isn't capturing data correctly
Improve AI Voice accuracy:
- Speak clearly: Use normal conversational pace, not too fast.
- Reduce background noise: Move away from traffic, machinery, or loud environments.
- Microphone access: Ensure FlowCam has microphone permission in iOS Settings.
- Context matters: AI works best when you speak in natural sentences ("Customer name is John Smith" rather than just "John Smith").
Email export isn't sending
Troubleshoot email issues:
- Email configured: Ensure your device has an email account configured in iOS Settings → Mail.
- Internet required: Email export requires active internet connection.
- Attachment size: Large photo collections may take time to send. Wait for progress to complete.
- Try alternate email: If one email fails, try sending to a different address.
App crashes or freezes
Standard troubleshooting steps:
- Restart app: Force quit FlowCam and reopen.
- Update iOS: Ensure you're running the latest iOS version.
- Update FlowCam: Check App Store for FlowCam updates.
- Free storage: Delete unused apps/photos to free device storage.
- Restart device: Power off and restart your iPhone/iPad.
- Reinstall: As a last resort, delete and reinstall FlowCam (your data syncs from cloud).
I can't sign in with ShopFlow credentials
ShopFlow login issues:
- Active subscription: Ensure your ShopFlow subscription is active.
- Correct credentials: Use the same email/password as your ShopFlow web platform.
- Internet required: Must be online to authenticate.
